We wished you a Merry Christmas!!

I almost forgot the traditional picture of the girls in their Christmas dresses.
We missed all of you during Christmas.
The girls had fun and Derek and I enjoyed watching their excitement.
We hope all of you had a wonderful Christmas and we wish you a Happy and Healthy New Year.

Bryanna's Kindergarten Party

Bryanna had a kindergarten sing-a-long and party at school today. All the kids wore reindeer hats and sang cute Christmas songs. Afterward we went to her classroom for a party. The kids got to do a pinata and then the teacher and I brought treats for the kids. Bryanna had fun!

Derek's Day Off

We usually go for "a drive" on Derek's day off. We went up to the mountain and played in the snow for a very short time. Then we drove through the first settled town in Nevada, Genoa. Of all things there is a Mormon Settlement museum there. The Mormon pioneers settle here for a time before moving on to SLC. The museum was closed but we stopped anyway, and then we passed deer on the side of the road just like it was no big deal. Derek got some good pictures of them. We are finding neat things about this part of Nevada we live in.

Santa Train

One good thing about Carson City is they have a running train that you can take rides on and during Christmas you can ride with Santa. I decided to venture out by myself with the girls for a day of Santa fun!! We got there just in time, the line wasn't very long and we got on pretty fast. The girls were excited and when we got on the old train car there was an old wood burning stove in the middle, it was cool! The train stopped 3 times so that Santa could go to each train car. He came on and gave the kids candy canes and wished us Merry Christmas. Afterwards we had holiday hot chocolate. It was fun!!

Snow in Nevada!

We woke up to snow this morning. We knew it was going to happen soon, but some people might think, Snow in Nevada?? Where we live is on the West side of the state and we are in the Sierra Mountain Range. We get about the same kind of weather as Utah.

The girls waited a few hours and then were begging to go outside and make a snow man. They did a pretty good job all by themselves. It has been a pretty day watching the quiet snow fall!

Fire Sun

While we were at the Reno Temple we saw smoke coming up from the mountain ahead of us. It was crossing the sun and made a really cool red/orange smoke sunset. I took a picture and was so impressed!! I could be a professional, it looks so good!!

Santa Claus at the Mall

On our day out to see Santa Claus we found the Reno Temple up on the hill. It has a very pretty view of the city and it was nice to be there. The girls enjoyed seeing Santa! He was at the Reno Mall. We had no screams or cries this year and I actually got a decent picture. Santa even wanted me to sit on his lap ( a little weird I know). We ate lunch and the girls got a sweet treat. It was a fun day!
