Caramel Apples!!

For our treat after Family Home Evening on Monday, we decided to make caramel apples. This is something I remember doing a lot when I was a child. I even buy the same caramel wraps we used to use back then. The girls loved them and ate most of the apple and all of the caramel!! I love traditions!!

Pumpkin Patch

Yesterday was Derek's day off so we decided to head to the Pumpkin Patch. It is one of my favorite traditions, Derek... not so much. But we do it for the girls!!! We went to a local P. Patch in Reno. It's kind of a "Carni" pumpkin patch but the girls had a good time. Bryanna rode the pony, she was a natural. Gracie loved the blow up trampoline and Abby was just enjoying the germ infested toys in the field. LOL! After all that we forgot to get pumpkins so we will probably pick some up at Safeway or something. I love Fall, it is my favortite season. I am hoping to make my mom's Hot Apple Cider recipe this year and bake some pumpkin bread for Halloween.

Goodbye Utah, Hello Nevada!

We said goodbye to Utah on October 13th and made it okay to Carson City, Nevada. It is definately a different atmosphere here than Utah, but I am adjusting.

Our rental house is great! Derek did such a good job picking a house. We will be here a year and then hopefully we can buy a house.

Bryanna started school right away and she made a friend her first day!

I am still looking for a preschool for Gracie, but I am getting closer. She told me the other day that her friends and teacher at school are missing her and she needs to go to school!! Abby is back in her own room now and it is nice for her so she can get more sleep. She is also having the lovely terrible two's right now so that is a lot of fun!!

Derek is very busy at work and he LOVES it! He seems to really like it and gets along with the other guys. He is such a hard worker and I appreciate him so much.

I am having a hard time "starting over" again. I can't help that I am emotional and I get attached!! Our ward is definately different but I can tell it will be good for us. I've already had some visits with a few ladies who I think I can be friends with. I will be okay as long as my little family is together and happy!

So this is our life now in Nevada. I will try to keep up on our blog a little better.

Snow in October!!!

So we woke up yesterday morning to SNOW!! Snow in October???? It was freezing cold and the snow had covered all the rooftops and cars and of course on the mountains. It snowed throughout the whole day! Crazy Utah weather, it is so unpredictable sometimes.

Derek is on his way to Carson City today to find a place to live. I am putting all my trust in him to find a good place in a nice neighborhood! We hope we will be able to join him this weekend, but I'll know more by tomorrow. I am anxious to move and get started in Carson City.

We are moving to Carson City, NV

Well this is one place I never thought I would live, but we are so excited for this opportunity. We have put a lot of faith in HF's plan for us so we really feel like this is right. It is an awesome career opportunity for Derek and I am so happy for him and proud of him for being such a hard worker and an awesome husband/father. And as we tell the girls, it doesn't matter where we live as long as we are together as a family!
The sad news is that we are not any closer to the rest of our families! But we love our family and friends very much and we will always stay in touch and we will visit so don't worry! Thank you for being supportive of us and loving us.
