Derek taught Bryanna how to mow the lawn. She did pretty good actually. I love these moments between Derek and his girls. Don't mind Derek's immodesty. It was a hot day and he's working on his TAN!

Happy Father's Day to Derek! It was a nice simple Sunday. Derek is an awesome Daddy!!
Went to a Reno Aces baseball game and had a lot of fun. The girls were excited to eat peanuts and just throw them on the ground!! They don't get to do that at home, no way! The Aces won too.


Gracie didn't want swim lessons to begin with but after a few weeks playing in the pool she says she's ready now. She always does things in her own time!

Abby just loves being in the water. She always has a smile on her face during her lesson She hasn't yet put her face in the water but we'll work on that for next time!!

The girls and I had a Hungry Caterpillar storytime and craft. Those are egg cartons and bendy straws for the antanae. Super cute project.
Our Hello Summer sign to welcome the next 10 weeks of no school. It was windy that day and Abby was not enthused about standing outside to take a picture!!
I made this hot pad from a tutorial on craftzine.com. They have a lot of cute ideas. I love how it turned out. I will be making more of these.

Teacher Gifts

I made some yummy "watermelon" cookies for teachers and they turned out really cute! I got the recipe from another blog ( i don't know how to do the linky thing). basically it's sugar cookies with green food coloring, frosting with pink/red food coloring and mini chocolate chips. Also I put together these monogram bags for Bryanna's 1st grade teachers. They were a little tricky to sew on to the bags but it worked and I think they look cute. Her teachers loved them!!

Bryanna had her last day of school today. She doesn't want school to end, she LOVES school! Her teachers were awesome, Mrs. K and Mrs. P. I have such a huge respect for teachers now that my girls are in school. It really is a huge job and they don't get nearly the recognition they should. Bryanna will miss her teachers and class but she is excited to start 2nd grade and learn even more than this year. I am so happy that she has such a positive attitude about school . Ihope she can carry that on for a long time.
