Preparing for child birth

Bryanna holding Abby September 19 2005

Every once in a while as the girls are playing house I hear this: "hurry get the doctor my baby is coming out!" then a few baby cries. Oh my goodness... It's usually Bryanna. At first I am a little shocked that they are actually pretending to have babies but then I think, well at least they are preparing themselves...right?
They don't even know what reality will be when it comes to that time but I'll let them think it's all "fun and games" right now. My girls have such big imaginations!!

A smile on my face

On Monday Bryanna left me a note, "just like the notes you leave in my lunchbox mommy".

It's the little things like this that put a smile on this mommy's face.

September 19, 2005 the day Abby was born

Abby is the only one home with me now while Bryanna and Gracie are off at school. Every morning we walk them to the bus stop and the girls always turn and give Abby and hug and kiss before they get on the bus. I love that! I love that they remember to say goodbye to their little sister and tell her "we'll see you after school". I love that even though they can argue over barbies all day long and drive me CRAZY they really do love each other and miss each other when they are away. I hope they will always be good friends.

It was a great first day at school. Bryanna is so happy to be back at school and Gracie is excited to be in kindergarten. Abby will start an at home preschool in a few weeks...taught by my friend Karla. It's nice to get back on a schedule after the crazy last 3 weeks we've had.
Happy Back to School days!!

Derek's Dad....

Yesterday morning we received the sad news that Derek's dad had passed away. We just got back from Portland on Sunday and fortunately we were able to visit him before we came home. This was unexpected which makes the shock of it all so surreal. We will miss him very much and we are so grateful for the knowledge of the gospel that we have..that we will see him again someday and that he is in Heavenly Father's care.

We are headed off to Portland today to be with family.
