Picnic in the Park

Our ward has a picnic in the park once a month during the summer. We really enjoy seeing our friends and having a BBQ dinner together.

Treat Thursday #5

I think I missed some Treat Thursdays along the way, but trust me when I say we made a treat at least sometime during that week! Today we made rice krispie treats with sprinkles and white chocolate drizzled on top...YUMMY!! The girls really enjoyed helping make these.

Playdates

On our summer list is PLAYDATES. We see our church friends a lot but the girls really wanted to see some of their friends from school too. On this day we had a couple friends over and Bryanna and her friend found a grasshopper and brought it into the house. I immediately made them go back outside and then I offered a jar for them to make a home for it. The grasshopper is now dead in the jar on Bryanna's bookshelf :/

Craft Tuesday #4, 5 and 6

No scissors aloud on this art project. Abby took that literally and ripped a whole corner off of hers!

This idea I took from Meg ( i love her blog). I did the best I could to get a silhouette of the girls and then they cut out their own pictures from magazines that best say who they are or what they like.

Now this project was more a mommy craft day project since I did most of the sewing. We used white fabric for the clouds and different colors of felt for the raindrops. I used the sewing machine to sew the raindrops in a line then I hand sewed them onto the cloud pillow. I also attached a ribbon to the top so they could hang them above their beds. I love how they turned out even if I did most of the work:)

We LOVE Lake Tahoe

This is my attempt at burying Abby in the sand

We really are lucky to live so close to Lake Tahoe and to be able to enjoy it so much. It is always sunny and warm and the kids love to play on the beach while the moms chat and read! I get a sun burn pretty much every time we go but it's okay because we have a great time.

A Successful Camping Trip

Our second attempt at camping this summer was a success! The girls and I were apprehensive because of our last experience earlier this month. I am happy to say that we had a great time! We did see a baby bear both days but we stayed far enough away and it didn't bother us. The campsite at Twin Lakes was so pretty. It makes me feel so grateful to our Heavenly Father for creating this beautiful place for us to enjoy.
Our first night at the campsite and the girls were exhausted....and scared of bears!

We went with our friends the Shattucks. The girls had a great time together.
We rode our bikes a lot, had ice cream, played at the lake and the creek next to our campsite.
We stayed at Mono Village in Twin Lakes and it was BEAUTIFUL!
Our crusty camping look
Bryanna went fishing with Daddy a couple times.

Beautiful Twin Lakes
Family picture taken on the last day.
Don't mind us, we haven't had showers in 2 days!

Maggie was loving the ride home:)

I was so grateful that we had a good time. This camping trip was for Derek's birthday and I really wanted it to work out and it did! I'm thankful that our Heavenly Father kept us safe and that we were able to make some fun family memories.
