We had a perfect spot to watch fireworks this year. Our Stake Center is right next to the park in Carson City that puts on the fireworks. It was awesome!
We enjoyed some of these red, white and blue strawberries after dinner.
We are so grateful to live in this free country and for those past and present who protect that freedom. So grateful to a loving Heavenly Father who preserved this land for us!! Here is a really great quote:

We took a short trip (10 miles) to the Oldest Town in Nevada, Genoa, NV. It was founded in 1850 by 2 Mormon pioneers who settled there and stablished a trading post for those travelers on their way to California. It is a small museum set on a nice quiet park like area. We had been there before for ward bbq's but never to tour the museum. The girls enjoyed seeing the old sewing machine and piano also the hand cart and wagons. Then we made our way to the candy shop and Genoa Park. It's nice to live so close to history. We had a really nice day together!

Today we celebrated Father's Day early. Bryanna called it Fake Father's Day! I am going out of town next weekend so we wanted to celebrate daddy's special day early. The girls and I made breakfast and served it to daddy in bed. They made him a t-shirt and frame and gave him some other fun gifts. Then daddy got to spend the rest of his day (after church of course) fishing for a few hours. Derek is such an awesome daddy to his girls. He is so good at showing them love and teaching them by example to work hard and play. Abby calls him the "daddy tickle monster" because every day after work he gives kisses and hugs and tickles! We are so lucky to have him! No worries about next Sunday. Our friend/neighbor Grandma D. and the girls are going to make sure he has a nice dinner and dessert while I'm away.
A super cute blog eighteen 25 has some fun ideas for summer crafts/activities. We tried this one the other day. Bracelets made from paper towel/toilet paper rolls. The girls and I painted them first and then added embellishments. FYI: glitter is super messy!!
When we bought this house a year and half ago it needed a fence and finally it is going up! We had someone do the retaining wall and Derek has been working hard to get the fence done. Since these pictures were taken the lower half has been done and only a few feet are left.
It looks great! Derek is such a hard worker and he makes sure things look nice. It is nice to have privacy in our yard. Bonus: Daddy put up the trampoline too!
WARNING: Lots of Picture! We went to Yosemite on last week June 5-6,when it was Free National Park day. The pass to get there opened up the day before we went so we were prepared for a little snow but hoping it would still be beautiful. When we first got there we saw this ranger's house with snow still up to it's door!
Oh my goodness the water was overflowing!! It was so awesome. The warm weather had been around for a few days prior to our visit and it melted a lot of the snow and we were so lucky to see these awesome waterfalls everywhere. The pictures don't even do justice to what we really saw.
Our first main stop was Olmsted Point. There was still a good amount of snow there. We walked down the rock formations and the kids played in the water. It was perfect!

BridalVeil Falls which had a huge mist coming off of it..like rain in Portland!! The closer you got the more wet you were. Derek and Bryanna got soaked!!! Then I had to try it too.
Gracie and Abby stayed back; not interested in having a shower in the middle of the day! Abby was slightly terrified!
There were so many peaks and formations and I can't remember the names of all of them. It was so calming and amazing to be around these beautiful creations God has given us.
